Why I Want to Be a Front-End Developer and How HNG Will Help Me Achieve My Goals

For 5+ years, I have been building websites with WordPress. The drag-and-drop tools like Elementor, Beaver Builder, Divi, etc that WordPress offers gave me speed, but can't do more than they provided, of course, I wanted more control.

I am getting more requests from clients who want custom integrations on their website which plugins couldn't get done. This is when I realised that to truly build, I need to learn how to code.

Why Frontend?

Every well-designed interface starts with clean HTML/CSS foundations. These skills are so essential that companies specifically look to hire CSS developers to polish their products. For me, it means no more hiding behind themes, page builders and plugins. I'll start writing clean, semantic codes.

How HNG is Going To Help Me

Since HNG tasks focus on building real projects like responsive websites that require HTML and CSS. This will help me to garner the knowledge needed, and also create a portfolio that shows I am ready for when companies need to hire an HTML Developer who understands structure and accessibility.

What my Goals are

My goals are categories in the short and long term. My short term is to learn the basis of web development by starting with the frontend while my long-term is to continue with the backend and become a full-stack developer. I believe so much that the HNG internship is going to help out.
